What FirstBid stores, and why
FirstBid is a research tool. We keep the minimum needed to produce your report, prove your payment and support you afterwards.
What we collect
Account details: the email address you register with, handled by our authentication provider. We never see or store your password.
Assessment inputs: the Rightmove listing URL you submit, the postcode, and the optional property number or name.
Report data: the listing facts we extract and the public-record evidence we retrieve for that property, stored so your report can be reopened from your dashboard.
Order records: payment status, amount and a payment-provider reference. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach FirstBid.
The free postcode lookup
The free lookup needs no account. We query official public data for the postcode you type and show the result. We do not attach it to a user profile.
Where the data comes from
FirstBid reads official public registers: the EPC register, HM Land Registry Price Paid data, planning.data.gov.uk, Environment Agency flood data, Police.uk and ONS postcode data. These are public sources about properties, not about you.
How we use it
To produce and re-open the report you paid for, to verify payment, to provide support, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Retention and deletion
Reports and their evidence stay in your dashboard so you can return to them. Order records are kept as long as required for accounting. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your account and reports, keeping only the minimum transaction record the law requires.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Email support@firstbid.uk and we will respond within one month.
